The board of the Nigerian Aviation Handling Company (NAHCO Aviance) now has a new Chairman. He is Mr. Denis Hasdenteufel, the erstwhile Vice Chairman. He takes over from Mallam Suleiman Yahyah who voluntarily resigned as the Company’s Chairman.

Mr. Hasdenteufel, according to a press statement, is occupying the seat in an acting capacity pending when regulators and stakeholders will ratify his appointment. Yahyah’s resignation from the Board is linked to his failing health, a development which was said to have necessitated his family members to mount pressure on him to throw in the towel.

He attained the position of Chairman of NAHCO in July, 2012 after spending six years as a Director of the Company. During the tenure of the immediate past Chairman, the Company recorded tremendous progress with the turnover growing from N6.92billion when he took over to N8.5billion at the end of 2015.

Also, under the leadership of Yahyah, the company’s staff strength almost doubled from 1,100 to 1,980 while the asset base grew from N9billion to N15billion. He modernised the Company’s equipment to align with world’s standards in ground handling.
