Forty Nigerians,made up of 29 males and seven females have been deported by United Kingdom and Australia for various immigration offences.
All the deportees arrived the Murtala Muhammed Airport at about 7:25am aboard a charter plane with registration mark ZTA-4741. Four of the deportees were flown into the Lagos Airport by Air Seychelles with registration number SND-1.
According to sources, the returnees were politely received by officials of the Nigerian Immigration Service,Police,National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency,National Agency for Protection and Trafficking in Person(NAPTIP)
It was gathered that some of the deportees were violent when the immigration officials tried to collect their finger print for data purposes.
The atmosphere at the Hajj Camp and Cargo Terminal where the deportees disembark was calm.They declined to respond to questions posed at them by the press.
They use everyavailable means to get out of the airport without attracting much attention to themselves while others talked in trickles.
The Public Relations Officer, Nigerian Immigration Service, Mr. Ekpedeme King confirmed the deportation without giving further details.
In April, 2016, 48 Nigerians were deported by UK and Switzerland Governments for residing in their countries illegally.
