FOR THE RECORD : MEDVIEW AIRLINE OPENS LONDON ROUTE

It gives me pleasure to welcome you again to Medview Airline Headquarters. The last time we met here in August to rub minds was when we took delivery of our B767-300ER. It was on that day that I broke the news that we prepared for the Lagos-London route. Since then we have been working round the clock to secure all the necessary approvals needed to commence flight operations between Nigeria and united kingdom’s Gentlemen, I am happy to inform you that theĀ  UK, CAA, Nigerian CAA, the foreign affairs ministries have givenĀ  Medview Airline all approvals required to operate direct flights between the two countries. We have also secured slots at Gatwick southern terminal with good train service (Gatwick Express), Limousine services for business class and bus connections to Victoria station and various points in central, south and East London

You will agree with me that the Lagos London route has remained one of the busiest routes in the world, yet remained the most expensive. it is against this background that Medview Airline is entering the route as a Nigerian flag carrier to supply the missing link-capacity, reasonable fares, good customer care and excellent in-flight entertainment.

I know everyone has been itching to hear when, which is the thrust of today’s briefing. I am happy to inform you that our inaugural Flight from Lagos-London Gatwick is Friday, November 20, 2015. We are starting with four weekly flights on sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Our introductory fare (Economy Class) is as low as N149,000. Our passengers on economy will enjoy a 32kg 2 -piece baggage allowance, while those on business class are entitled to a 3-piece baggage allowance of 32kg each. In addition, African/continental meals will be served on board with a variety of music and films to compliment. The 767-300ER aircraft, christened ”ABEKE”, which will be used for the operation has a con figuration of 30C/191Y seats.

On west Coast, we are extending our frontier to Monrovia-Liberia and Freetown-Sierra Leone. Accra, Ghana, which entered our network, last September, is in full swing. We are already in Jeddah with four weekly flights via Lagos, Abuja and Kano. Dubai is secured and what is left is to announce a date.

Let me remind you that the November 20th for our inaugural flight to London coincides with Medview Airline 3rd anniversary of scheduled operation, which started with domestic flights on Nov 8, 2012. The domestic network has expanded to include Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Yola, Enugu and Maiduguri, while Kano and Kaduna will soon join the union.

Gentlemen, once again, i thank you for your continued support
